Navaratri is upon us once again and this celebration will be very special – it will be the inauguration of the first Navaratri celebrated at the Devi Mandir in Yuba City!
Shree Maa, Swamiji, and the Devi Mandir pujaris will be singing, chanting, dancing, and celebrating day and night in our new Mandir. Please give yourself the opportunity to join us!
For the spiritual aspirant, the nine nights of Navaratri are the most auspicious for worshiping the Goddess. During this time the Goddess bestows an abundance of blessings on those spiritual aspirants who worship with pure devotion.
In our tradition, on the day prior to Navaratri (which is on September 19th in 2017), we perform special worship called Mahalaya Parvan Shradda. These events celebrate the total dissolution of all attachments, and honor our ancestors with appreciation. This is a remarkable way to end the last creation and usher in the prasad of the new creation!

Having closed the doors to our past, and having prepared ourselves to receive the prasad of a new creation in our future, for the next nine days and nights we have nothing more to do other than to offer our love and devotion to all that is Divine.
Navaratri Schedule, Devi Mandir Yuba City
All are welcome to join us in worshiping every day from dawn until dusk. Stay tuned to the website for more information about the events. For now, here is the tentative schedule:
morning Arati 5:30 am
individual pujas and sadhana starting at 6:30 am
group chanting (tentative) after 10 am
evening Arati 6:00 pm
Recommended Worship
Shree Maa and Swamiji recommend we perform the Cosmic Puja and/or the Chandi Path (also known as the Durga Saptashati and the Devi Mahatmyam) every day during Navaratri.
These scriptural texts honor all three of the Goddesses – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati – and present a complete system for worship in the Shakti tradition.
