Their is one more beautiful story you can add in the travelogue, which is quite precious for shreemaa.
After 40 years, she celebrate ( bhai phonta)brother days. Its like a big celebration in India.
Bhai phonta (Bengali :ভাই ফোঁটা) in Bengal and it takes place every year on the first or the second day of the kali pooja festival.
On the day of the festival, sisters invite their brothers for a sumptuous meal often including their favorite dishes/sweets. The procedure may be different in bihar and central india. The whole ceremony signifies the duty of a brother to protect his sister, as well as a sister’s blessings for her brother.
Carrying forward the ceremony in traditional style, sisters perform aarti for their brother and apply a red tika on the brother’s forehead. This tika ceremony on the occasion of Bhai Bij signifies the sister’s sincerest prayers for the long and happy life of her brother and treat them with gifts. In return brothers bless their sisters and may treat them also with gifts or cash.
Do let me know, is it good story or not.
I have attached the pictures in the first picture folder. I have send you.
Pictures are quite big, may i send you the second folder tomorrow which contains digboi school pictures.
Jai maa
Pallavi
One addition is in the Bhai Phonta ceremony the Tika is the application of a tilak of red vermilion like we give in the temple, given by the sister as a blessing to the brother. She may also give a cloth and a meal or Prasad (of course Maa did), while the brother will give some dakshina (Maa did that as well).
Let’s keep all the anecdotes short. The main story will be the donation we gave to the school, for which we will want to crowd fund. I hope the entire campaign will be ready by the end of this week.
One other possibility is that we make one post of all the short stories on the way to the school: Kali Puja, Diwali, Manasa Temple, Bhai Phonta, etc., and then make the school cultural program and donation a separate post standing alone with a crowd funding invitation. The school donation was $10,000, plus $1,000 to the Kali Temple.
To do that we will need to post the short stories by this Wednesday night, and the school post by Saturday. We could also post the next two App upgrades in the short story post: Lakshmi and Hanuman are ready and approved now.
