The Chandi Path is the recitation of the adventures of She Who Tears Apart Thoughts, and it is the story of our journey to enlightenment. In this class series Swami Satyananda Saraswati chants the Chandi Path in Sanskrit. This series offers a wonderful opportunity to learn the pronunciation and meter of the Sanskrit mantras.
Chandi Path: Episode 1. Introduction - This Podcast Episode of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the kusandika or introductory mantras. These mantras are chanted before the beginning of the recitation of the various limbs of the Chandi Path in order to establish purity and auspiciousness.
Chandi Path: Episode 2. Sankalpa - This Podcast Episode is Swami reciting the Sanskrit mantras for taking the Sankalpa. The Sankalpa is the spiritual vow to perform the discipline of reciting the Chandi Path. It also includes the chanting of the introductory mantras which follow the taking of the Sankalpa.
Chandi Path: Episode 3. Sapta Shloki Durga - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa singing the Sapta Shloki Durga, the Seven Verses That Express the Essence of She Who Relieves All Difficulties. These are seven verses from the Chandi Path itself that sum up and express the inner meaning and feeling of the scripture.
Chandi Path: Episode 4. 108 Names of Durga - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Sri Durgashtottara Shatanama Storam, the Song Containing One Hundred and Eight Names of the Respected Reliever of Difficulties. This song expresses the various forms and aspects of the Divine Mother.
Chandi Path: Episode 5. Removal of the Curses - The part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Brahmadi Sapa Vimocanam, the Removal of the Curses by Brahma and others. The Chandi Path had been cursed that if anyone tries to use its power for selfish means it will no longer work for them. We chant this stotram to remember to sing to the Divine Mother with only pure motivation and love.
Chandi Path: Episode 6. Armor of the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Devyah Kavacam, The Armor of the Goddess. With these mantras we install the various energies of the Goddess within us like a suit of armor to protect the devotion to Divine Mother that we have installed in our hearts.
Chandi Path: Episode 7. Praise that Unfastens the Bolt - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Argala Stotram, The Praise that Unfastens the Bolt. The door to the secret of the Goddess is locked with a deadbolt and we open it by remembering these mantras.
Chandi Path: Episode 8. The Removal of the Pin - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Kilka Stotram, The Praise Which Removes the Pin. To open the pin is very clearly written, “Just as we give, so shall we receive.” This is the form of the pin with which the door to the secret is closed and secured.
Chandi Path: Episode 9. Vedic Praise of the Goddess of Night - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Vedoktam Ratri Suktams, The Vedic Praise of the Night of Duality. These mantras say here we are in the field of duality. Now, we want to move from the darkness of duality to the perception of the Goddess who is unity.
Chandi Path: Episode 10. Tantric Praise of the Goddess of Night - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Tantroktam Ratri Suktam, The Tantric Praise of the Night of Duality. These are the mantras that Brahma sang to the Divine Mother, in the form of Yoga Nidra, in to wake the Supreme Consciousness, Vishnu, who was in the sleep of Divine Union.

The Highest Meaning of the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Sri Devyatharvasshirsham, The Highest Meaning of the Goddess, which is also known as the Devi Upanishad. It takes all the unity of the Goddess and explains the Navarna mantra and the Kali Vidya of the Sri Vidya mantra. It also explains the meaning of the bija (seed) mantra hrim.
Chandi Path: Episode 12. 9-Lettered Mantra System of Worship - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting Navarna Vidhih, The System of Worship with the Nine Lettered Mantra. The navarna mantra, Om Aim Hrim Klim Camundayai Vicce, is the moola (root) mantra of the Chandi.

In the first chapter Markandeya begins to tell the story of the origins of the Manu known as Savarni, He Who Belongs to All Colors Tribes and Castes.

Swami chants at a slow place in order to help devotees learn the proper pronunciation and breaks in the verses. Chapter 2 is The Slaying of the Armies of the Great Ego and introduces many of the negative qualities and thoughts we pray to Divine Mother to purify.
Chandi Path: Episode 15. Chapter 3 - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the third chapter of the Chandi Path. Swami chants at a slow place in order to help devotees learn the proper pronunciation and breaks in the verses. In this chapter many more generals in the army of the Great Ego arise and are slain. Ultimately the Divine Mother slays the Great Ego.
Chandi Path: Episode 16. Chapter 4 - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the fourth chapter of the Chandi Path. Swami chants at a slow place in order to help devotees learn the proper pronunciation. In this chapter all the Gods led by Indra sing a hymn of praise to the Mother Goddess for freeing them from the rule of the Great Ego.
Chandi Path: Episode 17. Chapter 5 - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the fifth chapter of the Chandi Path. Swami chants at a slow place in order to help devotees learn the proper pronunciation. In this chapter all the Gods are oppressed by the two great thoughts Shumbha and Nishumbha, Self-Conceit and Self-Deprecation, and remember the Divine Mother Goddess and pray to relieve their distress.

Swami chants at a slow place in order to help devotees learn the proper pronunciation. In this chapter Sinful Eyes comes to battle the Goddess. She turns him to ashes with a single utterance of the mantra “Hum” and her Lion, who represents Dharma, quickly destroys his army.

Navarna Vidhih is chanted at the beginning and end of the Chandi Path establishes the syllables of the Navarna mantra in the body and the 10 directions.
Chandi Path: Episode 27. The Vedic Praise of the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Rigvedoktam Devi Suktam, the Vedic Praise of the Goddess. This Suktam sings the praise of the Goddess of Unity, the ultimate goal that we arrive at by perform the discipline of reciting the Chandi Path.
Chandi Path: Episode 28. The Tantric Praise of the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa chanting the Tantroktam Devi Suktam, the Tantric Praise of the Goddess. In this Suktam we bow to the Supreme Goddess and remember her as residing in all existence.
Chandi Path: Episode 29. The Most Preeminent Secret - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Pradhanikam Rahasyam, the Most Preeminent Secret. The Pradhanikam Rahasyam describes how Maha Lakshmi produced the qualities of nature and their male counterparts.
Chandi Path: Episode 30. The Modified Secret - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is the Vaikrtikam Rahasyam, the Modified Secret. The Modified Secret describes the placement of the Deities on the Cosmic Altar, and gives proscriptions for the recitation of the Chandi Path, as well as injunctions designed to please the Goddess.
Chandi Path: Episode 31. The Secret of the Manifestations - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Murti Rahasyam, the Secret of the Manifestations of the Goddess. Here the Goddess is described in detail according to the activities that she performs.
Chandi Path: Episode 32. The Rosary of Thirty-two Names of Durga - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Durga Dvatrimsanama Mala, the Rosary of 32 Names of Durga. The 32 Names of Durga highlight the Goddess's activities as the Reliever of Difficulties. It is a very power stotram.
Chandi Path: Episode 33. A Song Seeking Forgiveness from the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting the Devyaparadha Kshamapana Stotram, A Song Seeking Forgiveness from the Goddess for the Commission of Offenses. This Stotram asks for forgiveness for any mistakes made during the recitation of the Chandi Path as well as those we have made in our lives.
Chandi Path: Episode 34. Prayer for Forgiveness - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami chanting Kshama Prarthanam, Prayer for Forgiveness. The Divine Mother is always ready to forgive anyone who asks sincerely.
Chandi Path: Episode 35. The Key to Perfection - This part of the Sanskrit Recitation of the Chandi Path is Swami chanting the Siddha Kunjika Stotram, The Song Which Gives the Key to Perfection. This stotram explains the Navarna Mantra, Om Aim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vicche, and is recited to attain success in the perfect recitation of the Chandi Path.
Chandi Path: Episode 36. Be Victorious - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa singing Chandi Ma Ki Arati. This is the song which says “Be Victorious!” to the Goddess Chandi again and again.
Chandi Path: Episode 37. Praise to the Supreme Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa singing Bhagavati Stutih, A Song of Praise to the Supreme Goddess. This is a beautiful song in which we sing of the Divine Mother as the Foremost in exsistence. We remember, we bow to her and praise her.
Chandi Path: Episode 38. Manifestations of the Goddess - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Swami singing Devi Mayi, Manifestation of the Goddess. This is a beautiful song in which we say to the Divine Mother may our lives be spent without other thoughts in singing your praises and offering you our devotion.
Chandi Path: Episode 39. Bowing Down with Devotion - This part of the Sanskrit Chandi Path Recitation is Shree Maa singing the Pranamah. The Pranamah is the final bowing down with devotion chanted at the end of the Chandi Path. In this way we remember the Goddesses limitless qualities and express to her our pure devotion and appreciation for having been able to recite the Chandi Path.
