Devi Mandir

Highlights of Maha Shivaratri 2016

Deep inside the cave of the heart
there is a flame.

It is a flame of Love.
A flame of Peace.
A flame of Truth.
The flame of Shiva.

Truly, Lord Shiva is Shambho,
the Giver of Bliss.
He resides within,
always there,
waiting for us to pour our Love and Devotion
to the purest and most accepting place of all –
the Soul.

And in return,
He gives us Everything.

Shiva is our innermost essence,
He is the Wish Fulfilling Tree,
and on Shivaratri
we got to come a little closer to Him –
to sip from the cup of his Nectar
and remember the bliss
of a life lived with God…
the unspeakable beauty
the most wonderful fulfillment
the most…wonderful.
The mystery of love and mantra and
Infinite Consciousness.
The Great Mystery.

What a joy to share the very special night
of Maha Shivaratri
with such a beautiful congregation
of seekers and devotees.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing with us,
For offering your Love and Mantras into the fire,
For singing and for dancing,
and most of all,
for directing your hearts and minds toward Mahadeva,
the Great God.

And now we’ll leave you with a beautiful message from the Saṁ Gacchadhvaṁ mantras in the Advanced Shiva Puja:

“Let all assemble together. Let all speak together. Let all minds be in harmony. The Shining Ones of ancient times all proceeded by this worship.

When all thoughts are absorbed in mantra, then consciousness becomes fixed in the recollection most glorious. When all thoughts become absorbed in mantra, then by means of mantra all thoughts are poured as oblations into the divine fire.

This place is common. These thoughts are common. So let our hearts be shared as well. Let all thoughts, all minds, be united so that all may enjoy peace and contentment.”

Om Namah Shivaya
