Human emotions can be correlated to specific sanskrit bija mantras. In the Kashyapa Sutra, Chapter Four, we learn the secret of how to transform negative emotions into positive ones through the repetition of mantras.
The table to the right is a short list of bija mantras associated with negative and positive emotions.
In the Kashyapa Sutra Video Class Five, Swamiji explains two methods of chanting these bija mantras:
Chanting Method One
The first method guides us to complete one mala (108 recitations) of the bija mantra associated with the negative quality, immediately followed by one mala of the bija mantra of the positive quality.
For example, if you want to replace your feelings of anger with contentment and peace, you would recite kraum 108 times followed by shaam 108 times.
Chanting Method Two
The second method recommends we recite one mala of the combination of the negative and postive bija mantras. In the example above, using method two, you would combine the two seed letters into a mantra kraum-shaam and recite this combination 108 times.
Both of these methods are equally effective. Make yourself a copy of the Kashyapa Sutra Emotion Bija Mantras and practice transforming your emotions!
Thank you Swamiji for this beautiful teaching!
