Hanuman Puja: Class 1
Introduction
In this class, Swami Satyananda introduces the Hanuman Puja and explains the subtle meaning of Hanuman and his Mantra. After the introduction, Swamiji explains the meaning of some of the preliminary mantras. Hanuman was the perfect servant and devotee of Ram. As Christ said, “The greatest among you will be the servant.” Ram had to build a bridge in order to cross the ocean to Lanka, but brave Hanuman, saying the name of Ram with full faith and devotion, was able to jump into the sky and fly across the waters.
Hanuman Puja: Class 2
Sankalpa, Ganesh Puja and Guru Puja
Swami Satyananda Saraswati continues his class on Hanuman Puja, showing us how to put together an intermediate Puja. The class begins with a discussion of Sankalpa, the spiritual resolve to perform the worship. Swamiji explains the invocations of merit as well as the worship of Ganesh and the Guru. The beautiful song in praise of the Guru, Bhava Sagara, is also explained.
Hanuman Puja: Class 3
Hanuman’s Meditation Verse and the Establishment of the Pot
This is the third class in the Hanuman Puja series. The class includes Hanuman’s Gayatri Mantra, meditation verses, and a short explanation of the essential ingredients for constructing the worship of any God or Goddess. After the verses invoking Hanuman, Swamiji begins the system for establishing the Kalasha, the pot. He also tells the story of Narad Muni cursing Vishnu and Shiva, as well as the story of Gautum Muni and the Brahmans.
Hanuman Puja: Class 4
Kalasha Sthapana, Prana Pratishta, and Shiva Puja
This is the fourth class in the Hanuman Puja series. Swamiji explains the complete system for Kalasha Sthapana, the establishment of the pot. He reviews the meanings of the offerings of the Puja, how to establish life within the pot, and how to perform a short Puja for Shiva. Swamiji also answers many questions from devotees in relation to Prana Pratishtha.
Hanuman Puja: Class 5
Worship of Durga and Vishnu
This is the fifth class of Hanuman Puja. Swamiji discusses the worship of Durga and Vishnu as part of the Puja for the five primary deities of Hindu Dharma. He explains the Nine Durgas and the Argala Stotram, The Praise Which Unfastens the Bolt. At the end of the class Swamiji gives a beautiful explanation of Lakshman, Sita, Ram and the other characters of the Ramayan.
Hanuman Puja: Class 6
Hanuman Chalisa and Bajaranga Bana
This is the sixth class on Hanuman Puja. In this class, Swamiji discusses the Hanuman Chalisa and the Bajaranga Bana. Both are famous songs in praise of Hanuman. He also talks about the Pacha Pacha Vidya in relation to the Bajaranga Bana and Aparajita Stotram. The Pacha Pacha Vidyas use sounds of alliteration to move beyond intellectual meanings, and to induce an attitude of intuitive understanding.
Hanuman Puja: Class 7
Samkatamochan Hanuman Ashtakam
This is the seventh class in the Hanuman Puja Series. In this class, Swamiji explains the Samkatamochan Hanuman Ashtakam, the Eight Verses in Praise of Hanuman, the Reliever of All Difficulties. The verses tell of the many feats of Hanuman in which he alleviated the difficulties of others. Swamiji also continues the discussion of Pacha Pacha Vidya from Class Six and explains how Sadhana, spiritual practice, can be used to pray for the benefit of others.
Hanuman Puja: Class 8
Establishment of the Flag and Navagraha Puja
This is the eighth class in Hanuman Puja Series. In this class, Swamiji discusses the Establishment of the Flag, the emblem of victory, and the Worship of the Navagraha, the nine planets. He explains the divine aspects that each of the planets represents in our lives. Swamiji also tells the story Kakabhushundi and describes some of his own experiences in relation to expanding our worship.
Hanuman Puja: Class 9
Fire Ceremony and Arati
This is the ninth class in the Hanuman Puja series. In this class, Swamiji explains how to perform a shortened fire ceremony and answers many question related to homa. He discusses the Hanuman Arati and closing prayers of the Puja. Swamiji also speaks about the meaning of initiation, or diksha.
