Class 20: Ch. 14, p. 296
Ramakrishna:
Mother, I am taking refuge
in those who take refuge in You.
I have taken refuge in your lotus feet.
I don’t want any comforts for my body, Mother.
I don’t want any respect from society.
I don’t need the eight siddhis.
Mother, please give me true devotion
to Your lotus feet.
Take away all my selfishness
and give me true devotion to You.
[Swamiji: Shuddha pavitra chirastayai vyakulata
ananya bhakti. Take away all my selfishness
and give me true devotion to You.]
You know for a certainty, Mother,
that your mesmerizing countenance
would never be far from me.
In this world of objects and relationships,
make it so that I have
no attraction to desires or attachments.
[Swamiji: Please.]
Mother, other than You, I have no one.
I have no capacity to sing your name,
I have no sadhana,
I have no wisdom,
and I have no devotion.
Please, Mother, give me your grace,
and give me pure devotion to Your lotus feet.
