This season of this year is a very significant time for the worship of Gaṇeśa; first, because the month of Badra is extremely important to Gaṇeśa, and second, because this is a leap year, and the month of Ashwin comes as an Adhika month, meaning it comes twice, in order to reconcile the lunar calendar with the solar calendar.
Mahalaya fell on September 17th, and Navaratri will begin on October 17th. That is why many worshippers will continue one vow of worship from Mahalaya to the end of Navaratri.
Shree Maa is extremely enamored of Gaṇeśji this year, and one of our Swamis and one Swaminiji are writing about Gaṇeśa in our various forums.
Swami Shrimati Pushpa Rasmoni Maa is writing at: https://www.lalitachandika.org/blog/categories/ganesha
They have both made excellent contributions for Gaṇeśa with each his or her own emphasis. Adaityanandaji has captured the essence of the grammar and philosophy as reflected in the Sanskrit mantras. Pushpa Rasmoniji has admirably told the stories and the fruits of worship.
And on Shreemaa.org, I hope to add more on the meaning and method of worship.
I wish to praise them both for their efforts, and share my point of view, and then hopefully we will bring these all together into the harmony of our Devi Mandir family, where we combine the method of worship with the understanding and application of the philosophy, placed into the context of the history and the objectives, for the fullest understanding of how to use this knowledge.
But before we begin, Shree Maa and I have a special message and request: It is our privilege to make this book available to you free of charge, with only one request – that you do not turn our love and devotion which inspired these efforts into a commercial project, or seek to profit materially from the labors of our volunteer crew.
We want this knowledge to be part of our legacy, so we request you to share our love and blessings with fellow spiritual seekers, who can download a free copy of the book on our website. But before you download, please sign in using the form below:
Thank you!
